Taguig shuts down Embassy bar

The Taguig City government has ordered the closure of the Embassy bar at The Fort following a complaint filed against its disc jockey, who allegedly mauled a balikbayan customer inside the bar early morning yesterday.

The order was served by the Taguig Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) to the management of the Embassy Supperclub.

Alex Vargas, 20, a balikbayan, was allegedly mauled by the club’s regular disc jockey, DJ Pauly Mac early yesterday morning. No one from the club, particularly its bouncers, came to Vargas’ aid or pacified the suspect.

Relatives of the victim yesterday sought the help of Taguig Mayor Sigfrido Tiñga about the alleged maltreatment Vargas suffered in the hands of Embassy employees.

Acting on the complaint, the mayor tasked BPLO head Jeff Minglana to immediately enforce a closure order against Embassy Supperclub.

In her sworn statement made before investigators of the Taguig police, the victim’s cousin, Leslee Santos, 18, said that after the incident, two personnel of Embassy bar even escorted the grinning suspect out of the club. No arrest was made.

“The deejay, Pauly Mac was rapping in front of my cousin and nudged him, trying to get his attention to listen to him. As my cousin tried to walk away, Pauly Mac pushed him real hard and started punching him on the face,” Santos said.

The victim was already slumped on the floor when another guy grabbed him. “I thought that he was trying to help him up and take him to a safer place, but it turned out to be the exact opposite.  As soon as the man grabbed him off the floor, I saw Pauly Mac punch him a couple more times, and saw my cousin fall and lay flat on the ground,” Santos added.

Vargas is being treated for head injuries in an undisclosed hospital.

Minglana said the complaint alone was ground for the automatic revocation of the establishment’s license to operate.

“There is a valid complaint made by a patron against Embassy Supperclub. The mauling happened inside the establishment and worse, it was perpetrated by a club employee,” Minglana said on his issuing a closure order.

He said the closure order will be served not only against Embassy Supperclub, but also its sister establishments in Fort Bonifacio.

The Embassy Supperclub has recently gained notoriety after a series of squabbles and scandals involving their patrons that happened just outside the club. Last December, club customers beat up an international pilot to death.

“We cannot allow these incidents of lawlessness paint a negative image of our city. People should always feel safe here in Taguig,” Mayor Tiñga said.

Meanwhile, Taguig police chief, Superintendent Alfred Sotto Corpus said appropriate charges are now being readied against the suspect.

Last Thursday, i went to Shangrila Mall to watch the French film Ma vie en l’air,  with my boyfriend, and his family (naks. part of the family).

[The French Film Festival will run until tomorrow, BTW, and its for FREE!]

Anyway...after having dinner, we went on to take our seats and enjoyed the subtitled movie. wehe. Ma vie en l’air, or LOVE IS IN THE AIR is the 2nd french film that i was able to watch, after Amelie.

The gist of the story? Guy falls in love, girl leaves the country, guy wasnt able to follow her because his fear of flying took over, after 10 years he's stll not over the girl, guy meets a new girl, new girl made him realize that he should move on, guy falls in love, old girl came back to the picture, they got back together, new girl left, guy starts realizing he doesnt really love the girl he's with, ranaway from his own wedding, followed the new girl in tahiti, overcomes his fear of flying. and they lived happily ever after.

hahaha

ang gandang summary no? but the movie has a loooott more to offer that that. specially on the humor side. its a light romantic , feel-good film that will make you laugh from time to time...will even make you agree on some of the lines being thrown on the entire film.

personally, i loved the message of the movie. there will be a moment in our lives that we will be able to face our fears just to let that special someone know how much they mean to us. it also tells us that we all mature at some point and learn to deal with responsibilites. i am currently living that kind of life. fearless and responsible.

A few months ago, my BF sent me an SMS with the above quote.  Sabi nila, malalaman mo na mahal ka ng isang tao, kapag tinanong mo sya kung bakit ka nya mahal...tapos hindi nya maexplain kung bakit.  Ganun daw yun eh. Pero ewan ko...somehow i believe in that. Kahit ako, if you ask me why i love him, mapapaisip ako ng malalim, pero nakangiti ako. haha. ang landi no?

I've shed buckets and buckets of tears in the past. Mainly because of the men who broke my heart. The men who thought they're God's gift to women. I was gullible and a weakling back then. As long as i have someone to call "BF"...im ok with it. Pathetic, yes. It never crossed my mind that i deserve someone better. That i am someone worth keeping and loving..

That's where Mack, comes in. The guy God prepared for me. I can proudly say (and with conviction) that we're the perfect match. HAHA. I dunno, we just clicked right away. And the similarities are scary.

We were born on the same day of the same year. JULY 31 1981. Siguro dun na nagsimula lumabas yung mga bagay na pareho kami, after namin malaman na pareho kami ng birthday. We both love Chowking's lumpia and rants about Jolibee's. We both have the JAWO shirt from Happy Days. We both collect FHM. Our sisters were born on Dec 28. We both took up Architecture but are not practicing. We both love to read. We both love to drink *yike*....at marami pang iba. Everyday i learn something new from him. and everyday he makes me feel that i am special.

He's my Shrek and i'm his Princess Fiona. Gusto ko lang idagdag. yahaha

I know i'm not blessed with a vavavoom body but he makes me feel that im the sexiest woman in the world...also the prettiest. (well thats given, already. haha) He doesnt have any qualms about my weight and always tells me that i look byutiful, no matter what.

After 25 years of looking for Mr. Right (and avoiding MR RIGHT-NOW), i can definitely say that my search is already over. Finally. He is really worth the wait.

We already met each other's families. And so far, no negative feedbacks yet. My dad even invites him pag may party sa bahay.

i've ventured into a new business, with my ex room mate slash biyotch slash soul sister , rika. its a tshirt design biz which we just launched last week on Multiply.

i've always wanted to do this. the artist in me was itching to come out when i started working as a call center girl and left architecture (for the meantime).

heniway, our first offering? the limited edition FHM BULLBOARD SHIRTS FHM BULLBOARD is FHM Philippine's message board where FHM fans can interact and give out their POVs on everything and anything under the sun. We were lucky to get this stint...really lucky. And it would be perfect timing for the upcoming 100 Sexiest Women in the World Party, next month.

Rika is in-charge of the business side of Team Fierce. She works with the suppliers and does the marketing side of the biz.

I, on the other hand is of course....the Creative angel. Haha. I created the promotional poster/artwork and the tshirt designs.
